PlotBox Partners with Madlug on ‘Bags That Do Good’ Initiative

Nov 2024: PlotBox is delighted to announce a new partnership with Madlug, a local organisation dedicated to promoting the message that, “children in care are incredible”.

Madlug (Make a Difference Luggage) was established in 2015 by NI entrepreneur Dave Linton. 

Having learned that most children in care have their belongings moved in bin bags, Dave established the ‘Buy One, Wear One, Help One’ approach. And so, with every Madlug bag purchased, a pack away travel bag is given to a child in care. 

As part of the partnership, PlotBox will purchase a Madlug bag for each new employee ongoing.

PlotBox CCO Leona McAllister said,

“Madlug, like PlotBox, shares a passion for making a positive impact on people’s lives. These bags will provide some of the most vulnerable among us with a sense of dignity and ownership during a difficult transition.

When welcoming new employees it’s important to make them feel connected – both to other staff members and to the wider values of the business.

Including a Madlug bag in our onboarding pack will not only make them feel like part of the team, but shows them that we’re a business that cares about making a positive social impact.”

Over the past 9 years, Madlug has seen remarkable growth as a business, translating into significant social impact. Through the Madlug Foundation in the UK and Ireland, over 102,000 giving bags have been donated so far, with a financial value totalling over £1 million.

Madlug will give 125,000 pack away travel bags to children in care across the UK and Ireland by June 2025. Because no child should carry their life in a bin bag.
